Mokume-gane, which translates to “wood grain metal,” is a Japanese metalworking technique that creates unique layered patterns in metal.
In polymer clay different coloured layers of clay are stacked, distorted and sliced. The slices may then put onto another polymer clay sheet. The patterns vary on each piece because of the slicing and no 2 items are the same.
After curing the pieces are sanded and 2 layers of UV resin applied to give it the shine and contrast.
We have tried to capture the colours as accurately as possible but due to monitor settings the colours may be a little different.
